Efficient Talent Management

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 4:08 pm

Success in business depends to a great extent on efficient people management skills. With a little effort you can succeed in improving in these techniques. Having a innate affinity for communicating with people may be an advantage, nevertheless you can do some things to help the process.

Relationship Building: Start by remembering an individual’s name. Talk to employees; make eye contact during a conversation. Show respect, and be sure to do pay attention to the other person’s thoughts, even if you disagree or have a different point of view. Paying attention to everything others say is one of the best human resources management skills you can develop. Exhibit an interest in what they can offer the business organization. Show integrity: Keeping your word is crucial. When you don’t deliver on what you promise, the delicate bond of trust is violated, and if they do not trust you your staff certainly won’t give you their best. Everytime you make a statement or give your word on something, make sure you can deliver or it would be more sensible not to give your word at all. To be frank, if you can’t be counted on, they can’t be trusted on to be available when they are most needed.

Encourage feedback: It’s a two way street. Maintaining an open mind with regard to other people’s opinions is very important in managing employees. If you are willing to prove that you are accessible and receptive, you show that your co-worker’s opinions matter to you, your opinions will be valued in the same manner. Welcoming open conversation in addition promotes development of fresh ways of thinking, innovative methods of achieving goals, and improves the team dynamic. By allowing the staff to express their ideas, every member takes an interest in the results. Promote all sorts of communication: Good communication is the key to dealing with employees skilfully. Maintaining an open door policy, listen closely to other people, keep an open mind, and permit each of your team members to express their opinions. Staff should be inspired to speak with each other not only with you. The sharing of thoughts is essential in the creative process, if the team members communicate well, it’s easy to spot any issues at an early stage, and corrections can be put in place before things get out of hand. Some time is needed, even so the dividends achieved far outweigh the work. Through encouraging a good team dynamic and developing effective listening skills, you can have the best in business success.

My Trip to Provo

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 2:02 pm

Eric had been busy for the past two months doing everything possible to make his “big project” a thumping success. We had been postponing our annual vacation for the past four months just because of this project. Now that it has ended, Eric started searching for travel reviews on upscale destinations in the Caribbean since I’d always wanted to go there. Finally, he zeroed in on Providenciales, the capital of the Turks and Caicos.

Our visit to the Turks and Caicos was a great experience. It is among the few islands that truly lived up to its claim of being an upscale destination in the Caribbean. The island of Provo was an absolute pleasure with plenty of luxury resorts and all the possible modern facilities we could have asked for, be it a relaxing spa massage or the world-class golf course. Eric just could not get enough of the golf and I pretty much had to drag him out to explore the island with me.

I really loved and enjoyed every moment of my time spent on Provo. Truly, an upscale destination in the Caribbean, the white sandy beach of Grace Bay was an amazing experience. The vast stretch of sand and miles of deep blue sea ahead of me seemed to invite me to enjoy the beauty of nature. While Eric spent his evenings at the casino, I loved to walk on the beach and savor the precious moments of silence one usually craves for in a busy city like New York.

Overall, it was a great vacation spent on a beautiful and serene island and Eric’s choice of destination was not too bad either. I will definitely not forget to tell him to plan our next trip to more of these upscale destinations in the Caribbean once we reach back home in New York.

Qualifying for Chapter Seven Bankruptcy

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 11:27 am

The first question clients usually ask is if they are eligible to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy. The new bankruptcy laws have modified who is eligible to file personal bankruptcy to keep people from taking advantage of the system. Let’s look at who can file a chapter 7 bankruptcy?

Individual - Only individuals can file a chapter 7 bankruptcy. You can be married or single. If you are married you may file with or without your spouse. If you file without your spouse you will still have to disclose their income in order to determine if you are eligible to file chapter 7.

Income - Under the new bankruptcy laws chapter 7 filers must complete a bankruptcy means test which checks if you have the means, enough liquid income, to pay at least a portion of your debts. You are eligible for a chapter 7 if your income is lower than the state median for a family of your size.

You can still qualify for chapter 7 if your income is higher than the median in your state by showing your living expenses. The means test will then compare your living expenses to the IRS standard allowances that have been set for where you live. Extraordinary expenses can also be included such as medical needs or special diets for health issues.

If you are left with over $10,000 in disposable income you cannot file a chapter 7 bankruptcy, but if it’s less than $6000 you qualify. If it’s between $6000-10,000 and you can pay at least 25% of your unsecured debt then you do not qualify for ch 7, if you cannot pay at least 25% then you can file chapter 7 bankruptcy. The new means test can be complicated if you make more than the median income, so it’s important to consult a bankruptcy attorney.

What have I been reading lately, What I conceive about twitter and why blogging is the best.

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 5:02 am

I have been noticing a lot of great new blogs recently. I am still waiting to decide about all the twitter tizzy. I still love blogs and have over 1000 in my feed reader.

The cool thing about blogs is that you can find hidden gems, and they are from people that in reality like to can string more than a few words togther.

Sure you can chance some chill souls on twitter. But, seriously, twitter is for masses with attention defecit disorder or who dont like to write longer posts. Yes, heaps of people twitter and also blog, and those individuals are stylish by me, but I am perpetually and always a blog fan.

Blogs draw the author to in reality articluate their view. Twitter alternatively merely allows for you to tell it. Call me old fashioned but I believe there is a point where smaller is no longer sweeter. We have been obsessed with miniturization for so long. Especially when it comes to technology. Certainly there has to be a place where we get substance matters. Value matters. What do you believe?

Perchance the realistic answer dwells in equilibrium. And compromise. You cannot squeeze people to have essence and not be shallow. But, too maybe you need to push the neo libral hippies to lighten up a little aswell?

Investing in Wine Offers Great Opportunity in 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 11:47 am

Lately it seems like traders and investors have become, more or less, the same people. The market’s upheaval caused some investors to lose patience and abandon their long-term strategies. While there might be a legitimate need to liquidate positions, many investors who removed their money from the market in a panic took a major loss. Those people didn’t grasp that being an investor means looking at the long-term investment horizon and counting to 10 instead of clicking “sell.” Traders who tired of the same old investment opportunities should consider investing in wine in 2009.

Marc Lowlicht, president of the wealth management division of Further Lane Asset Management, defines investing as, “buying companies at good values based on a discounted value for future cash flows.” He classifies trading as, “taking advantage of inefficiency in the marketplace.” Keeping that in mind, aggressive trading isn’t effective for investors who, by definition, should have long-term strategies. Since trading involves finding market inefficiencies–such as watching supply and demand and following the news–Lowlicht suggests investors leave this up to trained trading professionals. “The key is to keep the investor focused on why the plan was put together and not change course simply because the markets have run into a difficult period,” he says.

Lonely, Seeking Singles in a Brand New City

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 9:38 am

I am not so miserable, but life can be lonesome without a date. I finally bottomed out, yesterday I devoured what seemed like a pound of bacon. As a coping mechanism of datelessness, obviously. That actually happened. What does this mean? Actually, it’s when I first considered meeting new singles in Denver or Dallas.

Nothing that can’t be fixed. I’ll meet new singles thru this Dallas dating service. Probably isn’t a bad idea. The reason I mention my dating woes: We were at Julie’s soccer finals in Denver two weeks ago, great aunt Judy started bothering me if I have yet to win the woman I’m going to marry. I just can’t believe that came up. So, I said, “No.”

Can you believe that even Gramps opining along the lines of my personal matters. I quipped to all of them: “Dating isn’t for me, but I’ll never find a gorgeous single woman hanging out with you.”

You know what? They all laughed at me. Shortly after, I rang Margaret so I could clear my head. What a waste of time! Nothing was helping and I needed some damn help. Billy, who was just deployed on military commission offered his opinion that I sign up for Great Expectations. I said, “That would do the trick.” I have some good friends. I can speak highly of the Dallas Great Expectations dating service.

When I started, meeting new singles through dating services was a novel thing from my perspective. This was all really foreign to me, that I spilled a glass of wine on my blazer. My faux pas did not bring an end to another incredible Great Expectations event. The evening was a limo pub crawl from heaven. The host was incredible and I’ll always remember the honest, desirable singles.

I started going to these amazing Great Expectations Dallas singles events and mixers, I rubbed elbows with a collection of dynamite friends who I could tell share a parallel understanding which made for a magnificent singles event. Don’t know why I ever let anyone get me down about being single. Surprisingly enough, doing things with Great Expectations is enjoyable and a remarkably refreshing dating experience.

Millions of Individuals Each and Every Week Decide to Use the Same Numbers for Their Entries! Which in a Lot of Countries Can Only Cover a Part of Any Possible Lotto Selection

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 2:42 pm

Can you crack the code using your own extraordinary strategy or trust on an e-lottery syndicate to select them for you? We unrealistically believe that if we do not do something or maybe do it the wrong way that something bad may happen, in this case; if we miss doing our numbers that week they are certain to come up!

Millions of people every week prefer to use identical numbers for their entries; quite often these are memorable dates in history, which in many lotteries will only cover a part of any possible lottery selections.

Being the one to decide on the lotto winning numbers is naturally something every committed lottery player wishes they could do and as humans, we all possess an acquired bias against anything thats random, we all like some form of control and rules that make sense to us.

So your lotto number comes up more often; that does not mean to say it will come up again! its impossible to pick any set of lottery numbers that are more or less likely to win. All lotteries are a game of chance and each lotto number drawn is simply at random. So the upshot is - no one number is more random than the next.

If you take a look at the rules of probability, as one lotto number is drawn the likelihood of your chosen number being picked next is slightly increased purely because the possible selection is lessened.

If you choose the same lotto numbers each and every week, remember they are nonetheless random lottery numbers and you stand just as much a chance of winning with those same lottery numbers as with a lucky dip selection. Still, if you use birthday numbers in a lottery draw your individual prospects of winning the jackpot still remain the same but then, likewise your chance of keeping the lotto jackpot to yourself is dramatically reduced because so many other individuals employ birthday numbers in their choices.

Employing the same numbers would mean you will have to play 135,000 times to even receive an evens chance of winning. Unluckily, to win the lottery jackpot you only have just about a 1 in 14 million prospect of being successful; yet we all think it could be us. Does that sound like a good possibility; would you be better off signing up to a lotto syndicate?
