Make Money From Your Adventure Travel (Part One)

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 3:10 am

What if you could not only cut the cost of your next adventure vacation, but turn a profit from your travel as well? Even better, what if you could turn your adventure travel into a high-income business?

If this sounds too good to be true, let me just say that many people do this every day. Yes it takes work, and planning and persistence (the very things required to succeed in any endeavor in life) and don’t expect to get rich. But you can expect to become a high earner and get paid to travel the world – not a bad way to live if you ask me.

There are many ways to make money when you travel, but for now I am going to focus on the big three: 1) Travel photography, 2) Travel writing, and 3) Importing items abroad to be sold on online auction sites.

In this first article, I am going to concentrate on travel photography.

Digital cameras have revolutionized the world of photography and have opened the doors of profit to average people.

  1. With digital cameras, you do not have the expense of film to buy. Aside from the obvious benefit of lowering your costs to enter this field, no films also means you can practice your skills over and over again. Take a look at the photos shot by teenagers on their camera phones that they post on their blogs. You will see some very advanced skill levels on these blogs. In years past, these skills would have taken years to acquire, but with digital cameras the learning curve is much steeper.

  2. Another advance in digital photography is the fact that they can now be displayed, sold and transmitted online. An amateur can set up a small website to display his or her photographs and be in business over night.

But what kinds of photos are most saleable to the adventure traveler? Here is a brief list of ideas I came up with, but you should not limit yourself to my ideas. Study magazines like National Geographic or other travel publications and look at what subject they buy and publish.

What to photograph when you travel abroad, in order to sell your pictures later:

  • Children. Take lots of pictures of local children. Show their activities, play and what they have to deal with in their lives. Don’t take pictures of sad or impoverished, third world children unless you are a photojournalist with a news organization. And even then, don’t expect to sell many of these pictures.

Instead, try to find, smiling, and happy children. If you can capture these children at play or engaging in activities unique to their local customs, all the better. Happy children sell photographs.

  • Beaches. I am assuming of course that many of your buyers may be in the travel industry, so you can well understand how saleable beach photographs are.

  • Scenic wonders. The more natural beauty you can shoot the better. If you can take a picture of the wondrous, multi-colored sunset, or the sharp spires of rock formations just off the coast, you will have some very profitable photographs.

  • Dangerous local activities. For the same reason we rubberneck at a traffic accident in the opposite lane, people are fascinated by pictures of someone kissing a cobra, wrestling a crocodile, running through streets full of angry bulls or balancing on a tightrope. If you see such dangerous activities, take a picture.

  • Local customs and local costumes. Readers of travel magazines are interested in what makes the people in other lands different from our own neighborhoods.

  • Historic places. Photographs of the peaceful fields where the battle of Waterloo was fought, the ruin of an old medieval castle, or even the grave of Jim Morrison all hold fascination from a historical perspective.

  • Tourist activities. Just the opposite of local customs, these activities are meant to entice tourists to come to enjoy sports like parasailing, or shooting through jungle trees on a zip line. If someone might be influenced by your picture to make travel plans to this place, you should be able to sell the picture to some publisher.

  • Nightlife. Tourists don’t want to go to bed at eight when they are on vacation. Take pictures of the places they can go to and things they can do when they visit this destination.

  • Places to shop. Another category of pictures that can entice visitors. After all, everyone wants to bring home a souvenir when they travel. Let your photograph show them where.

  • Unusual signs. These are more common than you think, especially when someone with limited English is trying to communicate to travelers. Signs also give local flavor and add humor.

  • Local foods. Can you take pictures of some of the exotic foods that are prepared in this destination? If your photograph looks scrumptious, it is saleable.

  • Animals. Nothing sets the scene of a local place better than indigenous animals. If you can capture the animal’s beauty, your photo will be valuable.

In part two we will discuss how to make travel writing a profitable business you’re your next adventure vacation. And in part three, we will discuss importing products from overseas to be sold online through auction sites like eBay.

Bovine Colostrum

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 2:14 am

Colostrum is the milk produced immediately after birth. In cows is it is referred to as bovine colostrum, which is beneficial to children and adults alike.

Bovine colostrum contains components such as immunoglobulins, antibodies, proline-rich polepeptyde, lactoferrin and glycoproteins, which are instrumental in fighting viruses in the human body. Also, the growth factors present in Bovine Colostrum are identical to those of human colostrum. There are over 90 components in bovine colostrum, which are divided into two classes, immune factors and growth factors. These two factors contribute largely in maintaining health for the human beings making bovine colostrum the preferred tonic for a growing number of people all over the world.

Bovine colostrum can rejuvenate your brain, assist generation or improvement of aged muscles, burn fat, assist the internal regulation of blood glucose levels, and repair the body’s DNA and RNA. Also, the vitamins and minerals present in bovine colostrum act as coenzymes, which maintain the chemical process in the body.

Over the years, research has proved that immune and growth factors found in bovine colostrum are nearly identical to that of human colostrum. So, bovine colostrum, more than any other forms of colostrum will be beneficial to human health. Also, there is a misconception that only children can benefit from colostrum. As a matter of fact, as bodies age, they stop producing immune and growth factors that help us fight diseases so there is a real need for colostrum in adults.

Colostrum is a natural food revealing no side effects. No wonder it’s been a favorite of athletes and body builders. Bovine colostrum is best taken in powder form as it gives better results when mixed with saliva. Another important advantage is that it can help the body to utilize the proteins and vitamins obtained form other food to a greater extent.

Bovine colostrum can be the right food for people of every age. But it’s important to consult your physician before taking colostrum.

Colostrum provides detailed information about colostrum, colostrum benefits, colostrum milk, colostrum and pregnancy and more. Colostrum is the sister site of Progesterone Benefit.

Bugs and Cars: No Match There

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 12:07 am

For those of us living in the southern US states, the proliferation of the insect population is a recognizable part of southern living. Evidence of the huge bug population is manifest on vehicles across the southland in warmer months, particularly on the hood, in and against the grille, and right on the windshield. Fortunately, two products have been developed that can effectively combat the resultant bug splatter: car bras and bug deflectors. Are they good choices for your car? They can be! Please read on to learn more.

Car bras – Also called hood protectors, car bras provide maximum protection for the front end of virtually any vehicle on the road. Custom sized for each vehicle, car bras slip over the front end, covering the grill and the front part of the hood. There are some car bras that extend further up the hood almost to the windshield too. Some car bras are two part sections that allow for motorists to gain access to the hood without removing the bra, while others are one piece units that must be removed before popping the hood. In all cases, bugs are deflected from the grille and from at least part of the hood with a car bra.

Bug deflectors – Also called bug shields, bug deflectors work primarily to protect your hood and windshield from bug juice. In addition, some bug deflectors can deflect other small objects including stones kicked up from the road which can crack your windshield. A bug deflector is installed at the top section of your grille at the point where the grille meets the front part of your vehicle’s hood. Like car bras, bug deflectors are sized for the particular make/model you own, although there are some models that can be custom cut by consumers too. A strong double adhesive tape typically fastens the deflector in place, therefore no drilling is involved.

Typically, motorists install one or the other product on their vehicles and not both as a bug deflector must adhere to the car itself and not to part of the bra. Still, some bras have a lip installed that sits across the hood of your vehicle, acting as a mini bug deflector of sorts.

So, next time you make a trip through America’s southland or if you are a road warrior wanting year round protection for your vehicle’s front end, a bug deflector of car bra can be something that does the trick. Oh, by the way: both products look really cool too!

Let’s Put on Our Thinking Cap

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 9:38 pm

“GOT THINKING CAP?”
11-2-05

Is there a Thinking Cap in the House? In the Senate? In a Court? In the
classroom? There seems to be a huge shortage of thinking caps in our
area. My next question would have to be….. “Got Civil Rights?”

My son has Aspergers syndrome. It is affectionately called the “geek
syndrome”. He has a raw IQ score of 122 and looks like any mainstream
kid. That’s where he went wrong. Looking “disability free and having
and IQ of 122″, just means we can “ignore your disability, if we want to”.

It does not matter to this TEXAS school district that he went to first grade
twice, struggles in second, cannot read or write at grade level. They
repeatedly insist there is “no educational need for change” and “no
Aspergers syndrome”.

How could they know? The district alters grades, changes test scores,
withholds evaluations (conducted by their own staff), tests kids without
parental consent, (trying to get a diagnosis they liked-ignoring all the
others) to save the district a few bucks. According to the school
counselor and other admin officials ” our district just won’t recognize a
fad diagnosis”. HUH? Their own staff diagnosed the symptoms of
Aspergers before I knew my son had it. Why would they withhold that
information from me?

Why would a Superintendent of Schools allow her assistant the
authority to jump in her car, drive to my son’s elementary school and jerk
my son’s file from my hands, refusing to let me see it? I am confused
with the “strange attachment” to my son’s grades, state test scores and
teacher notes, this district’s employees have. I have never seen adults
act as like this. Ironically, I have chosen a career working in the
administration at the collegiate level. It is rumored there could be ” a
whole lotta ‘Texas Test’ cheating goin on”. I am concerned that the test
they refuse to show me, was NOT my son’s handwriting. Does the TPRI
test (official Test for the little kids) – buy grant dollars? Can we find out?

My son, Nicholas has been repeatedly denied a free and appropriate
education, civil rights and basic human dignity. How does that happen
in a wealthy district, in Texas, in the USA? The only single mom within
miles of here (me) wants answers. Why have civil laws, educational
codes and ethical standards when there is no one to enforce them?

They underestimated this single mom of modest means? The Northwest
ISD assumed no one would care that I found so many outrageous and
illegal practices? I have found people care about little citizens being
mistreated. People are applauded that my son wet his pants and was
“punished” by being required to wear girls “Capri” pants in school and
home on the bus. People care that educational arrogance has allowed
him to be bullied, ignored, and “left behind” twice.

The Northwest ISD still refuses to “accept” my son’s disability. Provide
him services he needs, and allow me to view all of his records. (Even
though the TEA ordered the records be delivered by police car to my
home on 10-18-05. I still do not have everything.

Aspergers kids can lead productive lives, but the elementary school
years are critical. I have trusted this school for two years and they
abused that trust. For Two Years, the Northwest ISD has left my son,
ethicical practices and basic human compassion, way behind.

I guess the US Dept of Education has taken an interest in this situation. I
received a call on Monday, from a gentleman who seems to care and
said he would be overseeing the investigation of my complaints. Maybe
those fine folks have an extra “thinking cap” that will locate my 8 year
old’s Civil Rights”.

“Got Ideas?” Please email me any comments/suggestions. We just
need a little passion for education, the underdog, and a “zero tolerance
for crap”. My son needs immediate help. I am the only “single mommy”
for miles. I am live the smallest house in a very wealthy area, and the
school district is turning a deaf ear to the underdog.

Do you ever feel like you haven’t been told the whole truth? Kind of like something is missing? Well, you are not alone.

With many investors awestruck over the last several years by the declining stock markets, many feel like they’re out in the cold. Why didn’t my broker get me out? Why didn’t I get out? What did I miss? Was there a better place for my money? They want to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

And when you think of investments, annuities are always one of the options. But what have you heard about annuities? Have you heard about your friend who put all of his money in annuities and actually made money during the 3 year decline? Or was your friend the one who bought the annuity he couldn’t get out of without paying 25% surrender charges? Are annuities good or bad? Should you invest in annuities?

Well, I am here to tell you, you don’t know the whole story. There are many things you haven’t been told and I’m here to tell those things to you. I recently published a highly controversial document titled “Annuities: The Shocking Truths Revealed.” It has literally caught the attention of the industry in no time.

You might ask why. Well the answer is because it sheds light on some things you wouldn’t believe. It is so revealing that it has agents in the industry infuriated. They can’t believe I would reveal these things and let you in on the dirty little secrets that they never told you.

So what does this mean to you? It means being able to play on a level playing field. It means knowing whether you’ve been told the truth and sold the truth or just another lie to get you to buy. It helps you avoid the mistakes that are being made every day due to investor ignorance.

So if you own an annuity or are thinking about an annuity, http://www.AnnuityMD.com is a must. Take a stroll and see what I have done. By the way, I am so confident of my product, it offers a money-back guarantee. But I am sure if you just avoid one of the mistakes explained in the document, or take advantage of one piece of advice, it will pay you back hundreds of fold.

What Does Your Staff REALLY Want? (Part 2)

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 11:04 pm

CREATE A CULTURE

The 2005 “Best Places to Work” program study showed that, contrary to popular opinion, employee satisfaction didn’t depend on salary. The most given answer as to what makes a company a great place to work is employee empowerment.

And what constitutes employee empowerment? I believe it comes down to a few basic principles, the second of which is the corporate culture.

In the book “Guts!: Companies That Blow the Doors Off Business As Usual,” authors Kevin and Vickie Freiberg discuss businesses that replaced traditional corporate cultures with those where fun and creativity dominate. The book examines 15 successful companies and the leaders who not only operate their companies “in an unusual way,” but who have also defined their businesses “in terms of a cause.” What companies do they highlight? Southwest Airlines, SAS Institute, and Cisco Systems, Inc., to name a few.

“Most companies are built on a model of control,” Freiberg explains. “But if you treat people like adults, they’ll act like adults.”

According to Freiberg, Herb Kelleher of Southwest Airlines encouraged his employees to convey an atmosphere of fun in the workplace and on each airplane. Kelleher encouraged input from all employees, be they pilots or baggage handlers. As a result of one suggestion, the company decided to issue its quarterly profit and loss statements in language more befitting a comic book than a dry, financial document. The only major protest to making this radical change came from the chief financial officer.

While some partners may say that what works for Southwest Airlines probably wouldn’t work for them, Freiberg thinks most people aspire to that level. And when they hear him talk about real companies and real people, “far more often than not, people get jazzed,” he says.

What’s the definition of a culture? Shared beliefs, values, and goals, all considered collectively.

What’s the culture you want to create? It’s probable that most firms wouldn’t go for the “atmosphere of fun”; however, what about a firm embodying one of the following cultures:

1. ultimate client service

2. beyond professionalism

3. communicating commandos

4. highest ethical standards

5. atmosphere of teamwork

6. culture of accountability

7. high tech

8. the hippest firm in town

Those are just a few thoughts; every firm will have its own ideas. The important point is to decide what type of culture your firm wishes to embody, and then focus on that goal.

How to decide on a culture? First of all, it has to make sense. Would a probate practice want to have a high-tech, hip culture? They would probably be better off concentrating on client service or professionalism. The culture for your firm will probably be evident to you if you think about what the firm’s goal is for their overall image. As a matter of fact, if it isn’t obvious or doesn’t jump out when you think of the firm’s image, a business consultant is needed to help the firm bind their image and message together because there is a disconnect happening.

Commit to the culture. Are all the partners in agreement on the cultural change or are some of them going into this idea kicking and screaming? If there’s more than 15% holdout, a big problem can develop. Before deciding on a big cultural shift, ensure buy-in from the major players in the firm. Once everyone sees they’re committed, change will be easier.

Focus on the cultural goal. This does seem obvious, doesn’t it? However, it’s funny how little things can set everyone off track. An ‘ultimate client service’ culture can be betrayed easily if the firm decides to cut back on staff. Without staff, client service declines sharply. If that focusing on the cultural goal? Or let’s look at an ‘atmosphere of teamwork’. Attorneys are forced to do continuing education because of their state requirements. Is staff also involved in educational training? If not, that doesn’t put them on equal footing with the attorneys and they don’t feel as valued. Not exactly a great way to enhance an ‘atmosphere of teamwork’, is it?

Make activities consistent with the culture. Consistency is the key to building a culture. If Southwest Airlines suddenly decided to dress all its flight attendants in black business suits and speak formally to the passengers, it wouldn’t make sense. They would be betraying the atmosphere of fun they’ve created and are known for all over the country. People know when others, including companies, are true to themselves and their cultural identity. When a company goes against its culture, it loses credibility with the public. It took Wal-Mart years to recover when the public found out that, during their ‘Buy American’ campaign, they were actually buying products from foreign countries.

Include everyone. The key to creating a culture is to include everyone in every position on the training, benefits, ideals, goals, and achievements. A culture is all-encompassing. If only the attorneys are involved, then there is no culture for the firm – only goals for the attorneys. Staff can make or break a firm; help them make you by including them.

Ask for input. If everyone is expected to be part of a culture, they should also be included in the planning stages. Ask for input from anyone that’s expected to be part of the process. You’ll be surprised at the innovative ideas that are suggested. This doesn’t mean that all ideas are implemented; however, it shouldn’t matter where the good ideas originate.

Employee empowerment really is the recipe for a high performing organization. Committing to a corporate culture is the second ingredient in the mix.

Breaking the Cycle of Emotional Blackmail

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 8:44 pm

Family decision-making is an intriguing phenomenon. Many factors become part of the decision-making process. Emotions play an important part in this activity.

Parents and children each use emotions to steer decisions favorable way to themselves. Using emotions to influence decisions develops naturally.

The use of emotions becomes harmful when they are used as threats to control or intimidate others. Emotionally charged threats and intimidation leaves their victims feeling helpless. Victims of emotional blackmail often give in, believing they have no other options.

Emotional blackmail occurs across ages. Parents use it on children, children use it on parents and even grandparents often enter the picture with their opinions. One parent may even use it on the other parent.

Threats often show up as emotion or behavior-based. Emotional threats are those where the blackmailer uses an emotional state to control the victim. This commonly occurs through rage, screaming, crying, whining or complaining.

Through making the situation uncomfortable enough, they force the victim to do something. When this occurs in public places, embarrassment adds pressure to yield. After several episodes of emotional threats, the victim often gives in to avoid the very possibility of another scene. The very threat of emotional discomfort or blackmail creates pressure to give in.

Behavioral blackmail is where potential actions are used to intimidate. These include threats of violence, suicide, running away, disowning and even calling Children’s Protective Services. The perpetrators may intensify the threats if the victim ‘tells anyone’ about the initial threat. Blackmailers may also threaten to go public with dirty laundry to force the victims into obedience.

By using such threats, the blackmailer gets their way. Rarely does the blackmailer consider the effects the threats have on other members of the family. The effect of repeated threats creates a hostage situation within the home.

Threats also occur in the form of withholding. The blackmailer threatens to withhold love, attention, money or dignity. These things are held out like a carrot to entice the family to do things their way. The phrase “it’s my way or the highway” is a common expression of this behavior.

In healthy families, decisions are made through negotiation, clearly defined rules and a just authority structure. Although pleasing every member of the family in the decision-making process rarely occurs, parents can listen to each person’s input before making the final decision. Discussion allows issues to be “out in the open” rather than someone’s will imposed on the family. Such discussion also reduces the feeling of being a hostage.

Displeasure can be expressed in ways without using emotional blackmail. When rules and expectations are clear, the need for manipulation is lessened. When the authority structure is clear and just, family members develop trust in the decisions that are made.

Sunday Showdown

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 10:14 am

As we approach the home stretch of the NFL season, division races and playoff pairings are slowly beginning to take shape. This Sunday finds several key games with teams in the thick of the races. Here’s a look at some of them.

Bengals at Steelers: This is a showdown for the AFC North title and there are plenty of sidelights. If the Steelers win, they will be tied for the division lead but will essentiall own it because they will have swept the Bengals (8-3) in head-to-head play. Pittsburgh has already won at Cincinnati, 27-13, in a game the Steelers defense dominated. 221 Pittsburgh rush yards, a hefty 4.7 yards per carry, was the storyline, along with Cincy barely topping 300 total yards. Injuries to the Steelers since then have been significant, and a large cause for their current two-game skid.

As usual, Bengals WR Chad Johnson is in the thick of the chatter this week. Johnson is planning to entertain the Steeler fans with his best touchdown celebration yet. Johnson said, “I’m going to guarantee that I won’t be stopped this Sunday.”

Should the Steelers lose, they would trail the Bengals by two games with four to play, including difficult games against the Bears at home and at the Vikings. “Obviously, it’s the biggest game of the year, and we all know what’s at stake,” Bill Cowher said. The Pittsburgh offensive line that sent three starters to the Pro Bowl last season isn’t healthy. The Steelers rushed for 86 yards in the Monday night loss at Indy and QB Ben Roethlisberger was sacked three times. Left tackle Marvel Smith returned after missing a game with an ankle injury, but was unable to push off properly and was replaced by rookie Trai Essex, who played in his second NFL game. Smith (ankle) is out, which means Essex will start. Another rookie, Chris Kemoeatu, is working at both guard positions.

A key will be Roethlisberger, who said his right thumb injury “is pretty painful,” but he is hopeful it won’t severely affect his throwing Sunday. In addition, Big Ben tweaked an ankle after returning from a three-week layoff following knee surgery. “It’s a little sore, but we’re going to try and see if we can get by with it,” said Roethlisberger. “A couple of contraptions hopefully will help it.” He didn’t look healthy Monday night, though he was under a lot of pressure from the Colts. Roethlisberger is 18-2 as an NFL regular season starter, and was 17 of 26 for 133 yards Monday.

RB Willie Parker (12 carries, 43 yards) will start again, but Cowher hasn’t decided whether he will again dress both Jerome Bettis (6 carries, 9 yards) and Duce Staley (2 carries, 6 yards) as backups. Parker gained 131 yards on 18 carries in the first meeting against Cincy, but that was with a healthier offensive line. Pittsburgh dictated the style and tempo of that first game against the Bengals, but that hasn’t been the case the past couple of weeks.

The Bengals are ranked 25th in the NFL in rush defense, having allowed an average of 122 yards per game. The Bengals have lost four of the five games played against Pittsburgh in the three seasons since Marvin Lewis became head coach. In the four losses, the Bengals have allowed the Steelers to run the ball an average of 39.7 times and gain 168.8 yards on the ground. The one time the Bengals under Lewis beat the Steelers, a 24-20 win at Heinz Field in 2003, Cincinnati held Pittsburgh to 85 yards rushing on 25 carries. In their last two games, the Steelers have gained 70 yards and averaged 2.8 yards per carry in a 16-13 overtime loss to the Ravens and then managed just 86 yards and 3.4 yards per carry in Monday night’s 26-7 loss to the Colts. The Steelers have not had a 100-yard rusher since Parker did it against the Bengals in October. The Steelers will be fired up at home to end their skid, but are they healthy enough?

Cowboys at NY Giants: The NFC East lead is at stake. The Giants lost 16-13 at Dallas in the first meeting in overtime. However, Dallas had the edge in yards 385-270. Cowboys QB Drew Bledsoe has looked old since throwing for over 300 yards against the Giants. So have WRs Terry Glenn and Keyshawn Johnson (a combined 64 years of age), who haven’t come close to their 14-catch 184-yard effort against the Giants. The Dallas defense has held three teams under 73 rush yards in the last five weeks. Bill Parcells’ team has the fewest penalties in the NFL (63), the Giants were flagged 16 times in last week’s frustrating loss at Seattle. The NY Giants are 5-1 SU, 4-2 ATS at home averaging 32 ppg (4-2 “over” the total at home). The Giants young secondary is a concern, as second-year corner Curtis Deloatch and rookie Corey Webster have struggled. Also, NY DT William Joseph (elbow) will not play Sunday. Enjoy Showdown Sunday!

The Science of Arthritis

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 8:44 am

Copyright 2006 Adam Waxler

In order to understand how to handle arthritis pain, you need to
understand how the body works and how arthritis can impede the
body from working properly. Once someone has a general
understanding of the science behind arthritis, one can better
understand how to handle arthritis pain and get some arthritis
relief.

First of all, there are several different types of arthritis.
The two most commonly known forms of arthritis are
osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However,
there are three other major types of arthritis. These other
forms of arthritis are systemic lupus erythematosis, ankylosing
spondylitis and gout. Let’s take a look at each:

* Systemic Lupus Erythematosis (SLE) – This form of arthritis
mainly affects women. It develops in the skin, internal organs
and joints.

* Ankylosing Spondylitis – This form or arthritis affects the
spine and can also affect the ankles, knees, lungs, heart,
shoulders and eyes.

* Gout – This is a painful affliction mainly for men, about one
million of them in the United States alone. Uric acid build up,
due to an internal chemical malfunction, forms crystals that get
stuck in a joint, generally the big toe, and become inflamed.

Where two bones meet, called joints, are covered with cartilage,
also known as gristle. This cartilage is sturdy, elastic, and
spongy or compressible, and keeps the bones from moving against
each other at the joint. Healthy joints can handle some fairly
heavy pressure. For example, when taking a walk a person’s knees
handle a force of three to four times a person’s total body
weight, while deep knee bends can increase to nine times the
body’s weight. Unfortunately, arthritis effects how joints
function properly in your body.

Surrounding the bones and cartilage is a strong, fibrous capsule
lined with synovium, a thin membrane that lubricates the joint
area with fluid. The end result is less friction or smoother
rubbing together of the bones. This fluid also feeds the
cartilage cells, keeping them healthy, and is “pumped” into them
during joint movement. Therefore, lack of movement can be
unhealthy. By understanding more about how joints work it is
easy to see why exercise plays a crucial role in arthritis
relief.

Arthritic joints can be affected with inflammation when bacteria
or a virus (or other undesirable element) enters the joint area
or when an injury occurs. What happens is when foreign matter
enters this area or the area sustains injury, white blood cells,
antibodies and other natural “fighting” mechanisms automatically
kick in internally to help. These fighters cause swelling,
redness and heat as the body fluid moves around. Symptoms of
inflammation, one of the uncomfortable issues associated with
arthritis pain, are redness, swelling and tender joints.

The exact science of what actually causes arthritis is still
being researched. For most forms of arthritis, the causes are
unknown. Injury, overuse of joints and mechanical issues with
joints (like skeletal abnormalities, worn out joint muscles) can
lead to arthritis. Many arthritis experts also point to issues
relating to bacteria as one of the main culprits causing
arthritis. Heredity, stress, drugs, food allergies and viruses
have also been linked to some forms of arthritis. Likewise,
diet, poor circulation, and lack of movement have also been
connected to arthritis.

While it appears that arthritis may be caused by many factors,
the good news is that at least some of these factors can be
controlled. Clearly, a healthy diet and plenty of exercise will
go along way towards arthritis relief.
