Beginner’s Bowling Guide: Ditch the Lane’s Bowling Balls
Here at the bowling center I usually find a recreational bowler willing to treat real bowling with new respect. Should that be your calling, you’re approaching a key turning point in building fundamental skills as a true bowler. My guide to the Top 5 Bowling Tips stand as essential reading. Pros from a nearby bowling pro shop want their customers reach their bowling potential. Just like a lot of sports, knock the pins down to win! I kid. Fine, if only it were that simple. Don’t fret, we can get you bowling down the right lane.
First, invest a little in the specialized bowling balls and shoes required to bowl competiviely. Rentals and house balls suck. It’s no joke, get your personal ball drilled, and you can make more of your practice time. A carefully selected bowling ball can make a substantial improvement in your game. Of course another critical matter is benefiting from comfortable bowling shoes which are in good condition.
After you went ahead and bought the right supplies, listen to the second best bowling tip: taking aim. While you wait to roll, don’t shoot for the actual pins. Use the markings like a barrel of a gun. Ever noticed them? It is easier to aim for a point much nearer. For it to work right, it should be your habit to begin your approach at the a consistent place on the floor on every attempt. Roll from the same place, in the same way and you can perfect your aim using the arrows in the lane.
What about curves, to achieve their desired pin action? That’s our bowling tip #3. They get traction with the pricy reactive ball. Actually, serious bowlers regularly roll at least two bowling balls to pull off amazing hooks, according to the lane. But intermediates might want to not try to be fancy, and avoid a ball that is too heavy for you. Some semi-pro bowlers roll bowling balls made for reactive materials. Steer clear of them, because these pro bowling balls can make even moderately good bowlers seem like they don’t know what they’re doing. And that does it for our first three bowling tips. Rest assured you’ll find shortly.

My friends and I bowl with a company team (US Systems) for the guys and gals at a bowling shoes manufacturer down in Plano, Texas. I chime in with tips to aspiring bowlers on the web and in the pro shop. Lastly, I must say hi to all my heavy rollers heading into tournament play. Sorry I can’t be there.
