Detox and Lose Weight with a Brown Rice Detox

Filed under: Uncategorized @ 2:40 pm

A brown rice detox is one of the easiest forms of fasting for many people because it supplies constant nourishment, detoxifies the body slowly (thereby causing little or no detox side effects) and doesn’t require food deprivation as a juice fast can.

When you do the brown rice diet detox program, you only consume brown rice for 2 to 7 days. You won’t suffer the discomfort of being hungry or getting the jitters. It’s acceptable to flavour your rice with Bragg’s Amino Acids or miso, similar to soy sauce but much better since it simply contains natural sodium. A little miso paste with garlic and ginger powder will also give your brown rice diet a little diversity. Other herbs for flavoring are also suitable, however, don’t go overboard. For a little spiciness, add a pinch of chili pepper pepper. You can also use a little brown rice syrup, maple syrup or agave nectar for a slightly sweet alternative. But only do this once a day, if at all.

In order to maintain steady blood sugar levels, eat five or six small servings of brown rice throughout the day. For convenience, you can prepare one or two day’s worth of rice at one time. Here’s how to cook brown rice.

Be sure to drink three to four quarts of water every day. Include herbal teas as well. Peppermint is a wonderful detoxifying tea, red clover will support detoxification and a laxative tea at bedtime will help keep your colon moving.
