2010 is the year of the 3D TVs and the 1st 3D television to get to the UK is from Samsung in the shape of the Samsung ue40c7000 3D led TV.

So what’s a 3D TV and is it worth purchasing a 3D TV and how well will 3D attune to the home viewing environment? If you have observed any on the new selection of 3D films at the theatre like Avatar, Disney’s Xmas Carol or Alice in Wonderland you will know how much this new version of 3D has changed since the last 3D films of the late eighties with pictures like Jaws3D in which you had the plastic red and green plastic lens glasses. Avatar has become the highest grossing film ever and alot of this has to do with the extraordinary way this film was shot in 3D. Sky TV here in the United Kingdom and ESPN in America have just started releasing sports games in 3D at selected boozers and venues and the feedback has been wonderful, so good in reality that sky will be bringing out it’s own 3D channel in Apr of 2010, but to observe the sky 3D channel you’ll need a 3D TV. The Samsung UE40C7000 is the 1st 3d television to be released and one of the nice features of this Samsung Television is that you do not have to take on 3D immediately. The ue40c7000 works just as well as a standard HD LED Television and you are able to add on the additional 3D features like the glasses at a later date. A nice feature of this TV is that it’ll also upscale regular 2d pictures into 3D, naturally this doesn’t look anywhere near as good as a real 3D source but it’s a nice additional and will make more use of the 3d features till more content is available in the future. The ue40c7000 is a LED edge-backlit LCD set and it’s fantastically thin, at just 27mm deep, Samsung have actually done ana wonderful job of fitting so much technology into this television and keeping it so thin and light.
