The Tarot is not just a divinatory tool, but it can also be utilized in the appropriately trained hands as a tool for providing counsel and advice with which we can navigate life. It is an antique form of divination that predates popular psychology, but has been shown to have archetypal energies that work well from a Jungian perspective. Tarot becomes a book of wisdom offering you a living parable or myth that reflects your life journey in the hands of the right Diviner. It describes a journey that mirrors your path in life. Usually the story is a direct description of what is going to happen in a particular window of time although talented readers can tell you much more than that from looking at the symbols in the cards! One of the main purposes of the use of the cards is to construct a future narrative so that you can make decisions to change your fate.

The reader shuffles cards and lays them out in a specific pattern usually called a “spread.” This can be compared to a snapshot or map of your life. Each card position in the layout of the spread represents a characteristic of the situation in question –what forces are beyond your control, what your particular strengths are in the current or future situation, and what the likely outcome is if you continue as you have been doing. As the cards fall into their positions, meaning is created by the unique placement of the symbolic meanings of each card. Together they weave a synchronistic tapestry that may seem random at first, but in reality is a very careful map which you may follow or not as you wish to bring about or avert the outcome of your reading. Synchronicity is a principle that is not only referred to constantly in psychology, but also in quantum physics. The entire system of Tarot cards can be described as a pictorial or numerological expression of the human condition.

The Tarot cards can be compared to a wise friend who we can turn to when we wish to make a wise decision regarding a relationship or a career. The wisdom found inside the Tarot, is actually the same wisdom that is found inside each and every one of us. The whole purpose of a reading is to tell you what you don’t know so that you can use your free will to take appropriate actions that are good for your soul. Now, this does not necessarily mean telling you what you want to hear - but instead what you NEED to hear.

It’s hard to believe, but Tarot cards were not originally designed to tell the future! They were first used in the 16th century Paris to play a card game similar to Bridge. As there were no soap operas in those days, the cards were also put to another entertaining use. The face cards, such as the Queen of Cups, King of Swords and so forth were modeled on the personas of popular celebrities of the day. These cards were shuffled and then arranged into scandalous story lines. This parlor game was a source of great amusement for both royalty and peasants alike.

In addition, 16th century poets used the cards to compose poems called tarocchi apporporati. The poems would be constructed about the characters in the trump cards in the deck, such as the Queens, Kings, Knights and Pages to tell a tragic or romantic story.

Tarot cards were not associated with divination until the 1800s, when a secret order of magicians in Venice, Italy found significance in their numbers and symbols. Before that these decorative cards were not used for fortune telling. As these magicians were the Illuminati of their day, their reading methods were kept very secret. The first known records of the divinatory meanings assigned to Tarot cards did not appear until the 1700s in Bologna.

Ordinary playing cards have been connected with divination as early as 1487. The gypsies were adept at reading plain playing cards for centuries before the Venetian magicians got their hands on a French Tarot Deck. It is safe to assume that the Tarot card meanings and spreads that are used today are based on a hybrid of techniques derived from the Tzigani system of reading playing cards, French parlor games and Venetian interpretations of occult symbols!

To understand the Tarot you need to familiarize yourself with the meanings of the four suits and the meanings of their symbols. The cups, coins, disks and wands of the Tarot deck derive their meaning from cartomancy. Cartomancy is the art of reading playing cards.

There are 78 cards in a traditional Tarot Deck. These 78 cards are divided into the Major and Minor Arcanas. The Minor Arcana relates to the ordinary playing deck. Most of the cards in the Minor Arcana represent events or qualities.

The additional 22 Major Arcana cards included in the traditional Tarot deck represent the stages of a person’s individual passage through life, from non-existence, birth, love, marriage, death spiritual ascension and back to non-existence again. The Fool Card, numbered 0, is indicative of this eternal cycle.

The 22 Major Arcana cards are an addition to what otherwise could be described as an ordinary playing deck that consists of four suits.

The meanings of the 22 Major Arcana cards are based on an old French parlor game that was used to predict the lives of the celebrities of the day. Since then, they have mutated to symbolize major life events and personal attributes.

When you are first learning to read the Tarot cards, sometimes it is valuable to have a list of the card’s abbreviated meanings to refer to while you are throwing the cards. Though not all diviner’s use the same correspondent meanings.

Here is a list of the classic meanings of each of the 22 cards of the Major Arcana.

0 The Fool - choices offered, folly, going in circles

1 The Magician - creative energy, psychic power

2 The High Priestess - mystery, hidden influences, female supremacy

3 The Empress - abundance, fertility, motherhood

4 The Emperor - leadership, control, fatherhood

5 The Hierophant - convention, society, restrictions

19 The Sun - marriage, success, male sexuality

20 Judgment - awakening, renewal, the result of good or bad actions

21 The World - success, opportunity, a clean slate

If you subtract the extra 22 cards that comprise the Major Arcana from a Tarot deck, the Minor Arcana is what is left over. The Minor Arcana of every Tarot deck contains 56 cards divided into four suits with each suit maintaining its own sphere of influence. The four suits are the Cups, Pentacles (also referred to Disks or Coins in some decks), Wands (sometimes referred to as Batons) and the Swords. In a deck of conventional playing cards the Cups related to the suit of Hearts, the Diamonds to Pentacles, the Wands to Clubs and the Swords to Spades.

Each of these four suits reigns over their own special spheres of influence.

The Cups suit deals with emotional matters, love, sex marriage, fertility and creativity.

The Pentacles suit pertains to matters such as wealth finance commerce prosperity, career and economic security.

The Swords suit refers to legal matters, the wheels of progress, heartbreak, betrayal, opposition, breakthroughs and the need to impose order on chaos.

Wands represent the mind, inspiration, guidance, the world of ideas, deep thought, intellect, purpose and potential.

Here is a handy list of the condensed and abbreviated meanings of the 56 cards in the Minor Arcana.

The face cards of the Minor Arcana used to represent the Who’s Who of Tarot. Originally these personalities were based on the antics of celebrities in 16th century France. The face cards are the ‘people” cards in the deck that often symbolize the arrival or influence of a male or female in your life. They are represented by the four face cards in each suit - Cups, Wands, Coins and Swords. These are the persons represented by the Kings, Queens, Knights (sometimes Princes) and Page (or Princesses) in the Minor Arcana of the deck. The four offices of King, Queen, Knight and Page vary in name somewhat from deck to deck - but all are correct for the deck and correspondences you are working with in that deck.

For those of you who have always wondered just exactly “whom” these people are coming up in your reading, here is a short guide as to what they are supposed to look like and be like:

Mobile broadband is the new development in the broadband world which will be the turning point to the future of broadband. Until recently, broad band has been delivered via a simple phone landline, ADSL cable, which links to your PC through an ADSL modem. Wireless broad band is going to be more and more spread, whereby the fast internet connection is connected to the personal computer thanks to a wireless network, and as a consequence internet users are cleaning their homes of cables. However mobile broad-band is taking internet one step further and offering another innovative idea in the evolution of internet connectivity; a broadband connection nearly in all the house without the use of a telephone landline cable.

The concept of using a working broad-band speed in any room is surely appealing for potential users, like those who often go online with their personal computer not from home. People who usually travel for business meetings are the potential users for mobile broadband who will welcome the possibility of not having to search at all for a wifi spot for a quite reliable internet connection. Mobile broad band is going further than that, and as soon as costs start to be more and more affordable and internet connection lines become faster soon we will witness the majority of broad-band clients applying for mobile broadband. Work without wires with mobile broadband from Compare Broadband UK.

Mobile broad-band works by attaching a small portable modem to your laptop, often called a ‘dongle’, from which a computer is able to use whichever mobile high speed connection internet provider the clients have purchased. Internet providers are now selling mobile high speed internet lines and coverage of the networks, popular as third generation networks, which is now reported to be around 90% of the United Kingdom.

Internet speed is a serious issue for any internet line and mobile high speed connection companies at the beginning struggled to market clients that any mobile high speed connection could be as fast as conventional, landline high speed broadband. Internet speeds are changing, since Vodafone has announced mobile broad-band lines of up to 7.3mb, which is not that far from some of the fastest landline internet broadband. Many countries, including the UK, are laying plans to put money in fibre optic cable networks, in order speed up broadband speeds to up to 100mb.

In New Zealand a famous telecom company has said that mobile broad-band networks will soon increase fast over the coming years and they have announced that mobile broad band is going to deliver connections of up to 100mb by early 2011, which coincides with the year the United Kingdom’s fibre optic network will be delivered. This could create a major change in industry thinking, with the discovery of an efficient super fast mobile high speed internet network with obvious advantages over the cabling of lots of Kilometers of fibre optic cables, not least from a practical point of view.

In their haste to tell people how easy it is to make money from an affiliate online business opportunity, many so called experts conveniently “forget” to tell folks how important the level of traffic that your site receives is.

The truth is that you need fairly high levels of traffic to make money from any affiliate online business opportunity. Without enough traffic, it really does not matter what affiliate program you opt for or how lucrative your affiliate online business opportunity is.

Fortunately I discovered this secret and it helped me for a long time to ignore all the offers for high value Adsense keywords that are flying all over the net. Instead I spent the time figuring out how to get more traffic to my site. You need to do the same with your affiliate online business opportunity and ignore everything else but how to increase traffic to your site.

It is interesting that I have given an example with Adsense, because the program generally requires much lower traffic to start earning money for an affiliate than any other affiliate program on the net. One of the reasons is the fact that it is easier to get people to click at an ad than to make a purchase.

The Adsense program is therefore a good affiliate online business opportunity to start off with as you make an effort to build up traffic to a high enough level to start making serious affiliate commissions from your online business opportunity.

Baseball practice can be, by definition, a chore. In order to perfect game-related skills, players must perform repetitive, sometimes mundane tasks in a quest to build muscle memory and skill. Even so, beware of making practice boring - players who dread practice won’t get as much (or anything) out of it, will distract the rest of the team, and may even quit.

Don’t get me wrong - I firmly believe in organzied, disciplined practices. Troublemakers should be dealth with swiftly; “running laps ’till their tongues hang out” is a great solution for many a problem. I am not at all above assigning pushups for stubborn cases.

But if you find yourself spending more time handing out laps than teaching the proper way to lay down a bunt, ask yourself why. Do you have twelve guys standing around while you hit one grounder at a time? Are the only players getting action the pitcher, catcher, and batter? Does your entire outfield want to sit in the grass, and do they seem to be influencing your third baseman to follow suit? If so, you may have a problem.

Come to practice with a plan. Before you practice, identify the areas you’d like your team to work on. If you don’t have any idea what’s going to happen in practice, chances are, the results won’t be good… at the very least, you’ll waste a lot of valuable time.

Stations are the gospel of practice. You should spend very little time with the entire team working on the same thing. Instead, break your team into three or four groups. Have one work on hitting, one work on ground balls, another work on relay throws, etc. After fifteen or twety minutes, rotate the groups. This ensures that each player gets many more repititions than they ever would have otherwise, and it breaks the monotony - by the time the player is used to doing one station, it’s time to move to the next one. If you don’t have enough coaches for this, ask for parental help - or conscript them from the stands, if need be. Tell them what to do, then go to the next station before they can protest!

Be inventive, and reward your players. Turn drill into contests - give points to different teams within your squad, and watch the intensity level rise. Raise the stakes by offering a small reward; a stick of sugarless gum will motivate a player like you wouldn’t believe. Consider handing out helmet stickers (think of the tomahawaks that the Florida State Seminoles get on their football helmets) for outstanding performers.

Don’t underestimate the power of encouragement. Keep in mind that, as a little league coach, you are one of the most influential people your players will ever have in their lives. Don’t fall into the trap of always criticizing failures without recognizing achievement and effort. If a kid is giving something his all, recognize that fact, even if he is failing. Support him, and he may amaze you - and himself - with what he can do.

Golf equipment, good golf equipment is something that all of those who play golf have to get themselves sooner or later. All of the best golfers have their own golf equipment and they have good golf equipment. You cannot get by with substandard golf equipment, you just can’t and in order to get the best golf equipment you need to know where to shop for it right? Right. So where is that anyway?

Where you will look for your golf equipment is going to depend on how much money you have to spend on it. If you make a lot of money and you can afford to burn some of it on some fancy new golf equipment then sure, go for it but if you are just a regular Joe you might want to start by looking at some used golf equipment.

You can find used golf equipment in many different places. One of my favorites s perhaps an unusual choice, but it is pawnshops. You would be amazed at the types of things pawnshops carry. Golf equipment is just one of the many things that they get loads of. You can find all kinds of golf equipment in these shops, everything from butter and clubs to golf balls and golf bags. You name it and somewhere a paw shop has it. So look in your local Yellow Pages too see how many shops there are in your town or city might carry golf equipment. You might even want to phone ahead to see if they have any golf equipment in stock. This can save you some serious travel time.

If you do have the money to burn on golf equipment then you can go to any good golf store. There you will be able to find all of the top name brands in golf and all of the golf equipment will be shiny and new. To some people this matter and to some it does not.

Now, if you are unsure of what kinds of golf equipment you should be getting ask around. You might also want to get a few golf magazines to see what they are raving about in terms of golf equipment. This can get you a good idea of what is hot and what is not in the wonderful world of golf equipment.

Imagine the game of basketball without the slam dunk showcase, celebrity players and flashy entertainment value we’ve come to expect. That’s how the game began in 1891, New England. Two teams, two peach baskets and 13 rules.

James Naismith, a physical education teacher at the School for Christian Workers in Springfield, Massachusetts created an indoor game to “provide an athletic distraction for a rowdy class, through brutal New England winters,” and is to this day, credited for creating the game of basketball.

Naismith asked the janitor to find two boxes to fasten to the balcony railings at either end of the gymnasium, but all the janitor could find were two peach baskets. In the original 13 rules, the ball, made of leather panels stitched together with a rubber bladder inside, could be batted but not dribbled because players could not move with the ball.

In 1896, as a result of a dispute between a YMCA official and YMCA members, in Trenton, NJ, a professional team was formed to play for money. Two years later a group of New Jersey newspaper sports editors founded the National Basketball League, consisting of six franchises from Pennsylvania and New Jersey. During this time, the Buffalo Germans and the original Celtics were standout teams in the league. The Germans won 111 straight games between 1908 and 1911, and the Celtics pioneered many of the game’s tactics that are still used today, such as zone defense.

The American Basketball League (ABL) was the first successful professional league, running from1925 to 1931. Teams made up of all black players, like the New York Renaissance and the Harlem Globetrotters, dominated the league in the 1930’s. By the mid 1930’s another professional league called the National Basketball League, which had taken its name from the earlier league that had folded a few years earlier, started to make a name for itself. In 1946, a group of executives got together to form another league called the Basketball Association of America (BAA), which ended up persuading most of the teams from the NBL to join them. By the 1949- 1950 season the remaining six teams in the NBL moved to the BAA, forming three divisions, and renaming themselves the National Basketball Association (NBA). Following that season, the NBA reduced its size and established two divisions- the beginning of the eastern and western conferences, which were later established in the 1969- 1970 season.

Red Auerbach’s Celtics from Boston were the team to beat from 1957 to 1969, when they dominated the league, winning 11 NBA titles. In 1967, the ABA was formed and became known for its flashy playing style. Julius Irving, known affectionately as Dr. J is one of the most well known players whose career began in the ABA, before moving to the NBA for a notable and successful career on the court.

By the 1970’s, basketball had hit a low point. The ABA disbanded in 1976, and NBA ticket sales were down. The game was viewed as dull, and revenue declined, while TV ratings bottoming out at a record low. But, two young collegiate players were causing a stir in the mid-west in 1979. Larry Bird of Indiana University and Magic Johnson from Michigan State faced off against each other in a NCAA battle that sent both players to a visible place in the NBA, and generated some much needed attention on a game that was potentially dying.

College basketball was the focus of the 1980’s, and the 90’s were all about Mike. Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls mastered 6 NBA championships from 1991 to 1993, and 1996 to 1998. Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippin and Karl Malone all made waves in the NBA during the 90’s and interest in the game hit an all-time high.

Salary caps and other issues forced a player lockout during the 1997-98 season, canceling all league play until an agreement was reached in 1999. Now, athletes are celebrities on and off the court. They are icons in pop culture whose style and finesse on and off the court is replicated and in some cases available for sale. NBA players sported Mitchell & Ness vintage throwback jerseys of past court royalty like Chamberlain, Bird and Johnson off the hardwood. Mitchell & Ness now features over 1600 players including more recent greats like Kobe Bryant, Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal.

>From peach baskets to pop- culture, the game of basketball has taken fans on a roller coaster of ups and downs from the beginning and will certainly hold our interest as it continues to change in the future.

The ubiquitous Woolly Bugger, never quite spelled correctly to my eyes, appeals to the eyes of every gamefish imaginable. If I had one pattern to fish the rest of my life, no matter what the fish, no matter what the conditions, this would be it. Steelhead, Trout, Salmon, Bass, Shad, Pike, you name it, they will hit this pattern. And the best thing? Usually the fish will be bigger than average, the strikes harder than average, and the action better than average.

The origins of the Woolly Bugger can be traced back to the Old English pattern the Woolly Worm, which is also a very effective pattern. Most credit Russell Blessing with the actual invention of the Woolly Bugger in the early 1970’s in Pennsylvania. Although, Jack Dennis claims it is a variation of the Black Martinez popularized in the West. And still others claim it was originally a Bass imitation developed in the late 1800’s in Missouri. Whatever the origins the popularity of this pattern cannot be denied.

Besides being used for all game fish, the Bugger’s popularity can also be attributed to its versatility. It can be tied in almost every color imaginable. The most popular color’s are black, brown and olive, with purple and white right behind. But almost every color has been tied, and different color combinations are often used on the same fly. Another characteristic that makes the bugger so popular, is that you can’t fish it wrong. Okay if fish are slurping delicately on #24 Tri-co spinners, you don’t want to plunk a #6 Bugger right in the center of them. But if you are searching sub-surface for any kind of fish, in any kind of water, you could do a lot worse than selecting the woolly bugger.

What fish think they are hitting when they hit a Bugger is somewhat a mystery. To human’s eyes it could be a bait fish, a leech, a grub, a cricket, a stonefly, a dragonfly nymph, a damselfly nymph, the list is endless. And perhaps that is what makes it such a great all-purpose pattern. It is a nymph, a streamer, and an attractor all in one. We’ll let the fish classify it.

New twists on this pattern have even added to its effectiveness. Now usually tied with krystal flash or flashabou in its tail, for added attraction. A wire rib counter-wrapped through the hackle can also add flash and more importantly durability. It seems the history of the Bugger is still being written and while we all try ways to ‘improve’ this most popular pattern. Fish, that put in a whole lot less thought about this pattern will curse the day Mr. Blessing or whoever first tied one on a hook.

Here are 5 things to do to put the odds of getting a
good horse in your favor.

Let me share a short story with you about public horse auctions and my friend Jack.

I’ll show you how to buy a horse at auction so you won’t get burned. Jack, an old time horse trader and I use to travel to horse auction all over the state. I’d
just watch Jack and maybe later ask my questions.

Jack was usually pretty closed mouthed, but he let me in on his secrets to buying good horses at auctions.

1 Arrive at the auction real early like 3 hours or more before the auction starts.

You want to be there as the horses arrive, so you can see who brings them and how they unload and walk to their pen.

Who brings the horse? A horse trader, private party, woman, man, kid, also how many horses did they bring? You need to
know this so you have a clue as to who you will possibly be buying from and who to talk to about the horse before you
bid.

2 If you see a horse you like the looks of, go to the horses holding pen.

Watch the horse and how he moves. If the horse is tied up in the pen this could mean trouble as the horse owner might
not want you to see the horse move. Check the horse for blemishes and soundness, make sure the legs are clean and the hooves are healthy and maintained, there should not be any limping or signs of lameness.

I do not like scars, divots or bumps on the head and neck, This shows the horse has been in a wreck of some kind, which
could mean the horse is prone to panic, I’ve been stuck with a couple of panic prone horses and they did hurt me. If you
don’t know about lame horses and what to watch out for, take someone with you who does or don’t bid.

Now the horse should show signs of life maybe be a little bit excited, what with all the other horses and the new surroundings, if not you could be looking at a drugged horse.

3 Talk to the person that brought the horse

you know this person because you seen them arrive. Make sure they are the owner of the horse, if not who are they? The standard stories are:

It’s my neighbors horse, this often means it is my horse but I am not going to admit it to you, as I don’t want to be held
accountable for the lies I’m about to tell you.

Or I’m a dealer trying to pass off this horse as a good old horse so gentle to ride, the neighbor kid rode bareback on
the road when in reality it’s a dink horse that he can’t sell off his trading string.

Jack use to saddle up to the person who brought the horse and softly ask; say can you tell me a little bit about your horse? ( then he SHUT UP! ). They would tell all the nice things about the horse and Jack would just look at the horse, not saying a word. After they got through the string of lies or half truths, they would start getting nervous because it was so quite they thought they had to ramble on
some more and that’s when a bit more of the truth starts to show up, yeah old Barley don’t buck except that one time
when he broke my collar bone opps…

4 Follow the horse from the pen to the sale ring

Jack use to walk right into the sale ring with the horse and watch it move in the ring too. The other advantage is you
can see who is bidding. The owner or someone with them may be running up the bid, you know this because you seen them
arrive right?

Now you may not be able to get in the ring but you can stand next to it so you can see the horse and the crowd too. Most
owners try too hard to get their horse to ride well in the ring which is usually too small to work a horse in anyway so you get to see how the horse responds under pressure. Watch for rearing, head tossing, humping up or crow hopping,
usually the small size of the ring prevents them from bucking.

5 If you still like the horse bid on it.

How much? Jack would only pay about $15 to $20 above killer price. How much is that? You need to snoop around before
the sale and ask the dealers or auctioneer, I’ve seen it range from 15 cents to 1 dollar a pound, so that could mean from $150 to $1000 for a 1000 pound riding horse.

Jack was comfortable paying that price as he would take the horse home, try them out, if there was a problem he would
run them through the next auction and not get hurt too bad, out $20 at most.

This works good if you, your wife, or kids don’t fall in love with old Barley, Jack use to say if you don’t send them right back to the auction. you end up with a field full of cripples and buckers.

You can get a nice horse at a rock bottom price following this method. My experience has been that I can get older
well trained horses that people are bailing out on because the kids all left home and they don’t want to feed the horse
any more, or they just were flash in the pan horsemen and need the money for a quad runner.

I have also bought young unbroke horses that people do not have the skill to train, if you think you want a go at that,
make sure you have a medical plan and go for it.

I do not pay top dollar for exceptional horses at auctions because, again experience has taught me there are no
exceptional horse at these auctions, if you think there are some there, look close as there is usually a hole in them
somewhere.

Now put this plan into action and you will find a nice horse that you can use and even make a profit on if you so choose
at some time in the future, just do all the steps and you will get the successful results.

Boatlift canopies are a perfect alternative of covering your boats and protecting them against the elements of nature. Boats are a precious investment and giving them protection is essential to maintain their longevity. In fact proper upkeep can increase the life of a boat by up to 50%. While traditional boat covers, which include canvas covers or the ones made of polyester, do serve the purpose of protection but boatlift canopies have some added advantages associated with them.

The canopies are light in weight because they are generally constructed with aluminum. The unique features of the shape of boatlift canopies include the deep frames and rounded edges that give the boat a perfect fit. These factors ensure that the boat dries up after your tryst in the waterbe it fishing or swimming. Also, these canopies are completely waterproof and the welded seams with the double-coated 16 oz fabric provides an effective barrier for this purpose. This very essential for the upkeep of the boat, because once water seeps in, it provides breeding ground for bacteria, mildew and mort.

Boatlift canopies have bungee and safety hooks attached to them. Also, provided are the safety vents that prevent the ballooning effect and in this way reduce the hazards caused by the winds. This is because these vents allow the air to escape under severe weather conditions.

The fabric attachment is such that the canopies can be put or removed easily as compared to the normal canopies. Another unique feature of the boatlift canopies is their ability to adjust both vertically and horizontally to give the exact fit. To get the best possible canopy for your boat, it is best you measure its overall length and then add at least one foot of extra length to get the ideal fit.

You can opt for canopies made of aluminum. This, along with 16oz double-coated fabric provides the perfect foil to the harsh climatic conditions as also protection against the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Personal experiences at a public skatepark.

Vision this. You and your friends have been riding for about an half hour on your BMX bike or skateboard at the local public skatepark and suddenly a mini van pulls into the parking lot and out of a van, kids between the ages of 3 to 7 years old come flying out the sidedoor. They run past the playground and go straight to the skatepark, half of them riding bikes with training wheels and big wheels and the other half sliding down the ramps like a slide at the playground. You go across the skatepark heading towards a quarterpipe and attempt to ice pick it and you narrowly miss one of the little ones. The freighted lad or lassie runs off to mommy or daddy who is sitting on the picnic table reading a magazine, not paying attention to the kids, gets up and comes strutting like a rutting buck and proceeds to rip you a new one. After hearing a bunch of colorful words that would make a sailor blush, you exclaim that you are sorry and explain that it is a skatepark designed for skateboarding, BMX bikes and blading. The parent says it doesn’t matter, my kid or kids can go wherever they like in this park. They may even demand that their kids can use the skatepark for themselves and you can have the bank in the corner to ride. It is probably not hard to envision for most riders that use the local public skatepark on a regular basis.

After they are done at the skatepark, will the little ones go to the softball diamond and use their Tonka Trucks on the pitcher’s mound during a ballgame? Or play dolls in a horseshoe pit while some one is using the pits exclaiming the park is entirely theirs to use as much as everyone else? Of course not. Why do they try it at the skatepark?

After observing and being part of the strange and bizarre phenomena for some time, we came to the conclusion that either the parents and kids don’t really understand what the skatepark is really about, or they are looking for a free ticket to sue and using their kids to do it, or they really don’t care.

Regardless of the reason, the best thing to do is leave and ride street or ride your ramps at home if you have some. Leaving is the only way to win in a situation such as this. Maybe a sign should be installed on the skatepark stating “This Skatepark is designed for BMX bikes, Skateboarding and Aggressive Inline Skating”.
